...as Callum would say.
We got our new van today! Hooray!
As you can imagine, the whole morning was spent packing up the Jayco and making things easy to transport across in a hurry. This was done quite efficiently and systematically. We had an appointment to pick up our new van and do the change over at 2pm.
The change over was quite easily done. We simply ferried everything across from one to the other and stuffed it all into any available cupboard/storage space. It was a very hot exercise (32 degrees today) and involved a great deal of perspiring. Fortunately the air conditioner had been put on before we arrived, so there was some measure of coolness to be found.
Using Sheila as our guide, we made it back to the caravan park before the rush hour traffic. Of course, the next part of the process was to repack everything into more logical and organised cupboards. This took quite a while and the boys and I had to stop for a quick dip in the icy pool, as we were all overheating a bit. It was a real team effort to get it all sorted, but we are just about done now. A few things to tweak in the days ahead.
We promise to put lots of pics up on the blog tomorrow evening. We are moving to Renmark tomorrow morning, for two nights, and so will have an opportunity to take pics in the afternoon and evening.
Callum and Andrew were absolute angels today while all this was going on, helping where they could and staying intuitively out of the way when the parents got snappy/didn't need their help. They are also thrilled with their new bunks and are presently having a good read before bed.
Well, I am absolutely pooped now, so will sign off until tomorrow...cheerio!
