Day 36: Limbo

No, this has nothing to do with the exotic form of horizontal pole dancing (which could be quite exciting if performed in a Xena bikini). It has everything to do with being suspended in time and space.

Callum and Andrew are getting a fantastic education: they have learnt the direct consequences when one says 'yes' to the "Can we get it? Can we pleeeeeeease get it?" question, which involves a whole lot or rearranging of schedules and a whole lot of waiting. They also now understand, through direct experience, what it feels like to be in limbo.

We had an horrific start to the day when we called Dot at Grigg's caravans, only to be told that it would take at least a week to change over the vans. Appetites immediately lost, Duncan and I immediately got on to the nice Windsor caravan man who had given us Tuesday as the day. He did a bit of phoning around and finally came back to us to say that we will still be changing over vans on Tuesday. We did finally manage a bit of breakfast, but have been feeling antsy all day. None of us really wanted to go out and see anything. So, we stayed in and did a bit of this and that.

So, tomorrow we have to ring up and see what time they want us. We will go and do the whole pre-delivery routine (they show you through all the bits and pieces of the van), move all our stuff into the new van, then bring it back here. There a few other bits and pieces they have to dismantle from our present van and move onto the new one. Wednesday will be dismantling day, Thursday we go back to have the bits put on the new one.

Friday we are outta here. Fingers crossed...
