Day 15: On top of a volcano

Today was walk-the-top-of-a-volcano day, which is just what we did. The squiggles on the picture above show the walks in the area, of which we did three (about 6kms/2hrs in all). Walking on the rim of a volcanic crater was quite thrilling really, though I don't know that I liked the sign boards cheerily announcing the different kinds of snakes we could spot on the way. Snakes are not really my thing.

Fortunately we didn't see any snakes, but there were a couple of emus on the prowl, with another sleepy koala hanging out in a tree.

Back 'home' for lunch, then school work time! Callum had a dose of SOSE from Duncan, while Andrew and I tackled his Maths workbook. There was no wailing or gnashing of teeth and the educational experience was pleasant for all.

Later this afternoon we all went for a bike ride into Port Fairy from the caravan park and had a look around. The terrain is flat, so it wasn't overly taxing. After about an hour of this we headed back for dinner, blogs, budget and post card writing.
